Medical Logistics Operations & Planning Analyst (MEDLOG SME)

Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Logistics Operations & Planning Analyst (MEDLOG SME) to support the Office of the Force Surgeon (OFS) within U.S. Marine Forces Pacific (MARFORPAC). This role provides operational and strategic-level medical logistics (MEDLOG) expertise to support Health Services Support (HSS) operations, planning, and assessments across the Indo-Pacific theater.
The selected candidate will serve as a key advisor to leadership, integrating medical logistics capabilities into operational planning, readiness assessments, and campaign execution. This position requires close coordination with OFS leadership, G-4 logistics staff, INDOPACOM stakeholders, and subordinate units.
Key ResponsibilitiesMedical Logistics Operations Support
- Support execution of MEDLOG operations aligned with Force Surgeon priorities and MARFORPAC HSS requirements
- Identify and assess operational MEDLOG requirements through coordination with subordinate and adjacent units
- Develop recommendations based on current and projected medical logistics capabilities
- Maintain MEDLOG operational baseline and contribute to overall logistics assessments
- Monitor classified and unclassified communications to identify emerging requirements, risks, and updates
- Develop and manage Plans of Action & Milestones (POA&Ms) for MEDLOG initiatives
- Review and validate operational products including briefs, reports, and action plans
- Maintain and update task tracking systems (e.g., TEAMS Task Tracker)
Operational Planning & Integration
- Provide MEDLOG expertise in Working Groups (WG), Operational Planning Teams (OPT), and synchronization meetings
- Support development of operational plans (OPLANs), Concept of Operations (CONOPs), and campaign planning efforts
- Advise leadership on sustainment capabilities, Class VIII requirements, and Global Pre-positioning Network (GPN) considerations
- Align MEDLOG planning with Marine Corps Planning Process (MCPP) and joint doctrine
- Assess and integrate Allied and Partner logistics capabilities into planning efforts
- Identify capability gaps, risks, and opportunities across the theater
Reporting & Briefing
- Prepare executive-level briefings, including quad slides and operational summaries
- Provide weekly updates to the Force Surgeon and senior leadership
- Contribute to Surgeon General updates and synchronization briefings
- Compile inputs for monthly and quarterly Situation Reports (SITREPs)
- Support After-Action Reports (AARs), lessons learned, and readiness assessments
Strategic Assessments & Analysis
- Conduct research and analysis of MEDLOG operations and planning activities
- Evaluate doctrinal updates and recommend policy or planning adjustments
- Support annual Joint Assessments and campaign plan revisions
- Provide input to Annex Q and other sustainment planning documents
- Identify equipment, funding, and capability shortfalls
Coordination & Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate with OFS Directors (M4 Logistics, M5 Plans), G-4 staff, and INDOPACOM stakeholders
- Participate in cross-functional synchronization meetings across MARFORPAC and adjacent commands
- Coordinate MEDLOG inputs across multiple echelons and organizations
- Provide guidance to subordinate elements on reporting and planning requirements
Travel & Reporting
- Conduct official travel as required (estimated up to 2 trips annually)
- Produce trip reports capturing key observations, findings, and recommendations
Required Qualifications
- Active Secret clearance (TS/SCI preferred or ability to obtain)
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Healthcare Administration, Military Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Demonstrated experience in medical logistics, sustainment operations, or military logistics planning
- Knowledge of Health Services Support (HSS) and MEDLOG operations
- Familiarity with Marine Corps Planning Process (MCPP) and joint logistics doctrine
- Experience supporting operational planning (OPLANS/CONOPs) and staff coordination
- Strong analytical, briefing, and technical writing skills
- Experience working in classified and fast-paced operational environments
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience supporting MARFORPAC, INDOPACOM, or Service Component Commands
- Knowledge of Class VIII medical supply chains and sustainment systems
- Experience with TEAMS, task tracking systems, or operational dashboards
- Background in military or government medical logistics operations
- Experience integrating Allied and Partner force logistics capabilities

Pay: $49,488.30 - $59,598.82 per year
