Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Blender Mixer Operator to join our dynamic production team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating industrial mixers and blenders to create high-quality PVC Pipe products, ensuring consistency, safety, and efficiency throughout the manufacturing process. This role is seasonal, but the job can turn full time/permanent. Your expertise will contribute to delivering top-quality products that meet our strict standards and customer expectations. Must be available to work 3rd Shift and weekends and holidays.

SUMMARY
Operates Blending equipment in which PVC resin, calcium carbonate, and other minor ingredients are weighed and processed through the heat and cool mixers and conveyed to storage silos and hoppers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Accurate monitoring, weighing and record keeping of all ingredients used to make PVC compound.
2. Monitor heat and cool controls, flow meters, timers and scale readouts.
3. Connect material convey lines to rail cars, take away hoppers, and silos.
4. Control material convey system to ensure efficient and proper flow is maintained.
5. Follow and promote company safety rules and accepted safe work practices.
6. Safely operate forklift equipment.
7. Read the daily blend schedule to determine which compounds will be blended and to which silos or hoppers to route that material.
8. Monitor silo levels to ensure adequate silo levels are maintained.
9. Verify compound ingredients through accurate measurements.
10. Make proper adjustments through pushing buttons, turning knobs, flipping switches and changing hoses.
11. Keep accurate and orderly records.
12. Observe machine operation.
13. Perform minor maintenance, such as oiling, fluid level checks, changing filters, hoses and cleaning up equipment and work areas.
14. Ability to climb stairs and ladders up to 60 feet in height.
15. Assist other employees as needed in other areas of operation.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Must be able to work with little or no direct supervision and be responsible for directing and managing time to achieve maximum rates.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED). One to three months related experience and/or training preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rates, ratios and percentages.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
