As Director of Cloud Operations at JLL/T, you will lead the strategic planning, delivery, and continuous improvement of JLL’s global cloud infrastructure across multi cloud platforms. This position oversees Cloud Operations engagements, managing both internal engineering resources and our Managed Service Provider (MSP) responsible for daily operations.
You will play a key role in shaping JLL’s “always‑on” operational strategy — ensuring agility, reliability, cost optimization, and compliance across all cloud environments. You will proactively build strong partnerships with internal business stakeholders and external service providers, deeply understanding their infrastructure needs to translate requirements into effective, scalable, and secure cloud solutions. What your day-to-day will look like:
- Lead global multi‑cloud operations strategy, aligning infrastructure services with JLL/T’s business and technology goals.
- Plan, review, and manage projects and engagements to deliver scalable, reliable, and secure cloud infrastructure solutions.
- Partner with internal teams, business leaders, and top management to translate requirements into actionable strategies that balance performance, compliance, cost, and agility.
- Oversee Managed Service Provider (MSP) daily operations, ensuring SLA compliance, service quality, and continuous improvement in automation, observability, and MTTR reduction.
- Maintain an “always‑on” operating model by implementing proactive monitoring, high availability best practices, and disaster recovery readiness.
- Eliminate technical debt and modernize cloud platforms through standardization and infrastructure upgrades.
- Define and report on key operational KPIs to measure uptime, responsiveness, incident resolution, and cost efficiency.
- Manage budgets, forecasts, and financial controls for cloud services, applying FinOps principles to optimize resource utilization and spending.
- Oversee license and subscription management across multi‑cloud environments to maximize efficiency and cost savings.
- Build strong partnerships with vendors, service providers, and internal stakeholders, fostering a culture of responsiveness, innovation, and collaboration.
- 10 years of experience leading infrastructure or cloud operations within large scale enterprise environments.
- Deep expertise in managing multi cloud environments (Azure and AWS) across production, development, and hybrid workloads.
- Demonstrated success managing MSPs or outsourced service providers, including SLA governance, performance management, and contract oversight.
- Strong technical understanding of cloud networking, security, and automation principles, including Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
- Experience with cloud monitoring and observability platforms (Datadog, Azure Monitor, CloudWatch,) and incident management processes.
- Proven ability to implement cloud cost optimization and capacity planning strategies, maintaining strict budgetary controls.
- Familiarity with reliability frameworks such as Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) and data‑driven operational measurement (SLA, SLO, SLIs).
- Exposure to container orchestration (Kubernetes, AKS, EKS) and service mesh architecture
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Preferred certifications: AWS Solutions Architect – Professional, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Terraform Associate, ITIL Managing Professional.
- Skilled in strategic planning, team leadership, and cross functional collaboration across technology and business stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to lead continuous improvement initiatives that enhance reliability, agility, and operational maturity.
- Strong influencing skills and executive presence, capable of driving consensus and alignment across globally distributed teams.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities, from engineers to senior executives.
- Demonstrated ability to identify operational pain points and reduce toil through automation and self-service tools.
- Experience applying SRE principles—such as error budgets, failure testing, and capacity planning—to improve system reliability and performance.
- Familiarity with AIOps, predictive analytics, or anomaly detection as part of proactive reliability management.
