Shift Lead (Facilities) Engineer Job Scope: Provides leadership and technical oversight for the facilities operations team during assigned shifts, ensuring 24/7 uptime of data centre infrastructure. Coordinates daily activities of shift engineers and technicians, assigning tasks and monitoring work completion. Acts as primary point of contact for operational issues, client communications, and emergency situations during shift hours. Monitors critical infrastructure performance through BMS and other monitoring systems, analyzing trends and identifying potential issues. Manages incident response, coordinates troubleshooting efforts, and escalates complex technical problems to appropriate specialists. Ensures proper execution of maintenance activities, change implementations, and vendor work during shift periods. Conducts thorough shift handovers, briefing incoming shift leads on ongoing issues, planned activities, and equipment status. Reviews and approves work permits, ensuring safe work practices and compliance with procedures. Maintains operational logs, incident reports, and performance documentation. Participates in root cause analysis investigations and contributes to continuous improvement initiatives. Ensures adherence to SLAs, safety protocols, and operational standards. Provides technical guidance and training to junior team members. Qualifications: Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Facilities Engineering Minimum 7-10 years of experience in data centre or critical facilities operations At least 3 years in supervisory or leadership capacity Comprehensive understanding of data centre infrastructure including electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and fire systems Strong knowledge of ITIL, incident management, and change management processes Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills Experience with BMS platforms and monitoring tools Proven ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities Flexibility to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays Location: On-site –Johor Bahru, Malaysia At JLL, we harness the power of artificial intelligence (AI) to efficiently accelerate meaningful connections between candidates and opportunities.
