The Chief Engineer oversees the efficient, safe and responsible operation of all building systems and equipment while also leading the engineering team.
The Chief Engineer will have responsibility of two locations in Atlanta, GA and Carson, California known as OPD Campus and PEC LA. Oversight is also expected of the two tracks at OPD Campus in Atlanta, GA and one track at PEC LA in Carson, CA. Please note that travel is required to PEC LA to support the engineering staff if needed and travel is expected for the annual track maintenance. You will work with and manage an engineering team of five at OPD consisting of one Senior Operating Engineer, two Lead Operating Engineers and two Operating Engineers.
OPD Campus consist of seven level 450,000SF building and parking deck, 1 mile south track with various modules, 1.3 miles west track, 30,000SF Classic Car Restoration Facility and 185,00SF west garage.
PEC LA consists of 51,000SF building with open parking lot and 1.5 miles track with various modules. You will support an engineering team of two consisting of one Lead Operating Engineer and one Operating Engineer.
Typical weekly schedule is Mondays to Fridays from 8am to 5pm with the expectation you will provide support after hours or on weekends if needed to respond to emergencies or manage special projects and events support.
Salary range based on experience starts from $108,000 to $118,000 per year.

Responsibilities
- Oversee the maintenance and continuous operation of all building systems and track systems
- Supervise and manage engineers and maintenance staff including hiring, training, coaching and personal development
- Ensure Engineering team are using all available JLL tools and processes including tracking and updating all work in JLL SharePoint sites and work order system
- Create and routinely update a documented plan that includes preventive, predictive and reactive maintenance procedures using the work order system
- Run all MEP projects and bring best practice, process improvements and implement SOPs
- Provide support by scheduling engineering staff, lighting and after-hours HVAC to support events held on site
- Liaise with internal and external clients and international specialty vendors to maintain and oversee repairs on the tracks as well as managing the annual track maintenance at both Atlanta, GA and Carson, LA
- Participate regularly in all client-facing meetings and property team communications
- Lead, create and manage engineering budget and participate in overall operating budget process
- Assist in the development of a capital improvement plan
- Select, schedule, supervise and direct contractors; monitor and document performance
- Respond effectively to emergencies and service calls
- Prepare Engineering weekly project updates and monthly operational summary slides and present to client
- Lead and organize ongoing technical, safety, and operational process training programs and procedures
- Engage MEP vendors for RFP bids, prepare summarize findings and make recommendations to client
- Other duties as requested by property management team and/or client
- 5 years of related experience, especially as a Chief Engineer or 7 years as Assistant Chief Engineer or similar role
- People management experience (leading a team)
- Strong written reporting skills a must using Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc.
- Trade school education, union training, military service or college is desirable
- Universal CFC EPA certification
- Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfort using ladders up to 30 feet tall
- Ability to frequently climb, bend, kneeling, lift and/or drive
- Strong customer service and communication skills
