This position will provide counsel and direction to align and coordinate security and life safety processes and programs. This position will also lead in the areas of security and life safety expertise, direction and guidance on security and life safety related matters to the management team and to client leadership as requested. This position will report to the Director of Security and Life Safety.
What your day-to-day will look like:
- Provide guidance and counsel in designing, implementing and maintaining security and life safety programs, strategies, processes and organization at Capital One Center.
- Support the operations division of JLL in collaboration with the Campus Operations Manager and the Campus Inventory and Events Project Manager
- Supports maintaining effective and consistent security and life safety performance measurement systems and communication protocols
- Supports oversight of all operational parking and traffic related concerns with the Director of Security & Life Safety and operations team, through the contracted vendors
- Collaborates with property management, legal, risk management, human resources and media relations to resolve security and life safety related matters and issues when necessary
- Develops and maintains an effective working partnership with federal, state and local law enforcement, fire and emergency agencies, including community alliances and advisory committees in the region
- Develops and maintains an effective working relationship with industry security and life safety professionals, vendors and suppliers
- Support and reviews the campus traffic and adverse event response plans with senior management for optimized response efficiency and ability to adjust to circumstances
- Provide direction, support and leadership to the campus security team to ensure that high level of quality service is provided to all associates, tenants and visitors in a friendly and professional manner
- Develop, maintain and update the emergency response plans and programs and ensure that the property team and tenants are prepared to handle any emergency, via training, exercises, drills, and table tops.
- Bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience
- Ability to obtain CPP, APP, or PSP certification during employment through ASIS
- 10 years of security and life safety management experience required, law enforcement experience a plus; preferred experience in the field of retail or hospitality environment.
- Thorough working knowledge of security and life safety concepts, practices and procedures
- Proficient in emergency incident management and response and incident report writing
- Thorough knowledge of the principles, practices, laws, and regulations applicable to a security and life safety program
- Proficient with physical security design, development and implementation
- Proficient with security monitoring, communications and access control systems
- Experienced in the investigation of internal and external crime cases
- Excellent organizational skills, detail oriented
- Experience with contract and vendor negotiations
