If you enjoy translating drawings into durable metal products and take pride in clean, accurate welds, this role was made for you. You’ll contribute across diverse lines, running a variety of welds in multiple positions and ensuring each part meets strict quality and safety expectations.
What will you do here?
- Operate an overhead crane to set parts and subassemblies in place before welding.
- Dial in the right machine settings for every job to achieve proper penetration and bead profile.
- Weld in flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions and finish work using grinders, wire wheels, and needle guns.
- Use measuring tools to verify dimensions and tolerances match the print.
- Interpret blueprints and follow both written and verbal work instructions.
- Fit, position, secure, and assemble components prior to welding.
- Shift between product lines and cross-train to support production needs.
- Keep a spotless, safe workstation and uphold 6S standards.
- Collaborate with teammates while also delivering independently.
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
Certification and quality
- Pass and maintain the Welder Qualification Test.
- Maintain a keen eye for detail to consistently meet quality standards.
Must-haves
- Comfort wearing a standard welding helmet for extended periods.
- Flexibility to work overtime, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to meet production demands.
- Reliable, on-site presence.
Nice-to-haves
- Welding certification from an accredited institution.
- 1 year of welding experience in a manufacturing environment.
Where you’ll work
- Manufacturing environment with exposure to loud noise, dust, moving machinery, and temperature fluctuations.
- Expect standing for extended periods; repetitive motions; lifting/carrying up to 35 lbs; pushing/pulling up to 50 lbs and up to 30 lbs sustained; bending; kneeling; climbing; and regular tool use.
- PPE required when applicable.
- Strong vision and hearing are essential for safe operation and communication.
