Project Specialist

JLA International, a Leader in Food Safety, is now accepting applications for a Project Specialist position at its facility in Brownfield, TX.

Ideal candidates will possess the following:

• A BS or BA in the biological sciences or a related field, or equivalent laboratory experience (required)

• Basic math skills

• Good attitude and willingness to work with others

• Ability to regularly lift up to 50lbs

• Good communication and organization skills

• Proficiency with data entry and computer applications

• Strong understanding of aseptic technique in the laboratory

This is a hybrid position (Project Specialist and Lab Technician) – while the primary emphasis of this role is project management, the candidate will be fully trained in day-to-day lab duties, such that if the main lab is busy and project work priorities allow it, this person can work in the main lab. Projects include, but are not limited to: (a) crop surveys, (b) seed surveys, and (c) general research and development.

This is a full-time position and is eligible for standard benefits after a brief waiting period. The schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, from 8:00am - 5:00pm. The laboratory operates weekends, so candidates must be willing to work some weekends.
