Position Summary
The Residential & Light Commercial Electrical Technician is responsible for installing, servicing, and maintaining electrical systems in both residential and light commercial settings. This role requires technical expertise, a willingness to cross-train, and a strong focus on safety and customer satisfaction. Experience with generators and solar systems is highly valued, and the right candidate will be a motivated team player who contributes to our on-call rotation. Knowledge of Generators and installation of generators is a huge plus.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair residential and light commercial electrical systems including wiring, panels, switches, lighting, outlets, and circuit breakers.
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues with accuracy and efficiency.
- Perform generator installations, service, and maintenance (Generac certification a plus).
- Support solar system work (knowledge or experience preferred; training available).
- Conduct safety inspections and ensure compliance with NEC, OSHA, and local building codes.
- Participate in an on-call rotation for emergency service requests.
- Collaborate with team members, contractors, and customers to complete projects on time and within scope.
- Maintain detailed documentation of work performed, materials used, and service reports.
- Ensure proper care and maintenance of tools, equipment, and company vehicle.
- Follow all company safety standards and promote a safe jobsite environment.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school preferred.
- Current state electrical license or journeyman certification (if applicable by state).
- Minimum 2 years of electrical experience in residential and/or light commercial environments preferred.
- Knowledge of NEC, local electrical codes, and OSHA safety standards.
- Experience with generator installation and service; Generac certification a plus.
- Solar knowledge or experience a plus, with willingness to train and expand skills.
- OSHA 10 certification preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces.
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
