JK Executive Strategies is proud to partner with a leading nonprofit supporting a network of human services and IDD providers in search of a Senior Director of Human Resources to join its team! This role requires a proactive, collaborative leader who can balance strategic vision with operational execution while promoting a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and employee success.


Position Description/Overview

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the Senior Director of HR serves as a strategic leader responsible for overseeing all aspects of human resources across the network organizations. This role provides comprehensive leadership in employee relations, benefits administration, talent acquisition, compliance, performance management, compensation, and staff development. The Senior Director drives the development and implementation of HR processes, systems, and metrics that align with organizational goals and support operational excellence.


This role plays a critical role in fostering a high-performance, employee-centered culture that prioritizes quality work, productivity, employee engagement, retention, and professional growth. This position ensures that HR strategies not only support business objectives but also enhance workforce effectiveness and organizational sustainability.


In addition to strategic leadership, this position provides direct oversight and mentorship to the HR team, including the Director of HR, HR Generalists, and HR Assistant(s). The Senior Director collaborates closely with the Director of Workforce Development to ensure that training initiatives meet regulatory requirements and align with the organization’s ongoing staff development needs.



Responsibilities

  • Serve as a strategic HR partner to network organization leadership, advising on employee relations, performance management, engagement, and retention.
  • Lead and oversee the HR function, including direct supervision of the Director of HR and overall HR team operations.
  • Provide expert guidance on employee relations matters, including investigations, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and organizational standards.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Team on workforce planning, recruitment, retention strategies, and organizational development initiatives.
  • Oversee performance management processes and support leaders in driving a high-performance culture.
  • Ensure organizational compliance with all federal and state employment laws by developing, implementing, and auditing HR policies, procedures, and systems.
  • Represent the organization in employment-related legal matters and serve as liaison with legal counsel as needed.
  • Oversee total rewards programs, including benefits administration, leave management (FMLA, PFL, disability, workers’ compensation), and compensation strategy.
  • Analyze compensation trends and maintain competitive salary structures across the organization.
  • Lead recruitment strategy and execution to ensure timely and effective hiring, including oversight of temporary and contract staffing.
  • Provide guidance on organizational design, workforce planning, and succession planning.
  • Partner with Workforce Development to align training and staff development initiatives with strategic goals; support employee engagement efforts and surveys.
  • Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and confidentiality of HR records, job descriptions, and FLSA classifications.
  • Oversee consultant agreements and related renewals.
  • Uphold organizational policies, ethical standards, and compliance requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief Executive Officer.


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field is required. Master’s degree in Human Resource Management or similar field preferred.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in a human resources generalist position with a minimum of three (3) years involving the management of others.
  • Strong knowledge and experience of HR principles, practices, and regulations, with the ability to apply them effectively in a variety of business contexts.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish credibility at all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically, analyze complex problems, and develop innovative solutions.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems such as ADP, Paylocity, Paychex and other relevant HR technology tools.
  • HR certification (e.g., PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP) preferred but not required.
  • Must possess valid driver's license and/or have access to reliable transportation sufficient to meet duties of the position


Salary Range

  • $95k-$115k plus comprehensive benefits package

Salary : $95,000 - $115,000
