Accounting Clerk

Reporting to the Director of Accounting, the Accounting Clerk is responsible for overseeing the production backflushing functions, ensuring accurate accounting and inventory management at the plant. This role involves daily monitoring of raw materials and packaging inventory, analyzing production variances, and supporting reconciliation efforts. 

 ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:  

• Performs daily backflushing of raw and packaging inventory to maintain accurate inventory records. 

• Conducts daily production variance analysis. Communicates findings to appropriate stakeholders.  

• Handles Inventory adjustments and fulfills cycle count requests as needed. 

• Assists in the monthly reconciliation of known inventory errors. Informs operations of any variances. 

• Serves as primary contact for updating, maintaining, creating, posting, and notifying of changes to specifications and formulas. 

• Performs all other duties as assigned by the Supervisor and Plant Manager.

• Capable of meeting tight deadlines and manage workload under pressure. 

• Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey information clearly and effectively. 

• Willingness to work extended hours when necessary to complete essential reporting tasks. 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:  

High School Diploma or GED required.  

Coursework in Accounting preferred.  

Proficient in Excel, Outlook, and Word, with the ability to operate a 10-key by touch. 

JD Edwards (JDE) experience is preferred.
