Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and safety-conscious Water-Based Fire Protection Systems Inspector to join our team. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of experience performing inspections, testing, and documentation of water-based fire protection systems in accordance with NFPA 25, California Fire Code, and local Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform quarterly, semi-annual, annual, and five-year inspections of wet-pipe fire sprinkler systems.
- Inspect sprinkler heads, piping, risers, valves, gauges, alarm devices, and related components.
- Conduct required NFPA 25 testing procedures for wet systems.
- Identify code deficiencies and document corrective recommendations.
- Complete electronic inspection reports accurately and professionally.
- Communicate findings with customers, property managers, and AHJs.
- Maintain inspection records in compliance with NFPA 25 requirements.
- Complete all inspection reports, test forms, deficiency notices, tags, and supporting documentation accurately and thoroughly in accordance with NFPA 25 requirements, company standards, and all applicable Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) reporting requirements.
- Ensure all reports are submitted on time and are acceptable for review by fire departments, fire marshals, insurance representatives, and other regulatory agencies.
- Follow all company safety practices and OSHA requirements.
- Travel to customer locations throughout the service area.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience inspecting or servicing water-based fire protection systems.
- Working knowledge of NFPA 25: Standard for the Inspection, Testing, and Maintenance of Water-Based Fire Protection Systems; Wet-pipe sprinkler system components and operation; California Fire Code requirements.
- Ability to read and interpret sprinkler riser diagrams, plans, and inspection reports.
- Proficiency with electronic inspection software and mobile devices.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Valid California Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds, climb ladders, and work in mechanical rooms, attics, and elevated areas.
Preferred Qualifications:
- NICET Level I or II in Inspection and Testing of Water-Based Systems.
- Experience with wet-pipe sprinkler inspections; Standpipe inspections; Deficiency reporting and customer communication.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification.
