To manage yard activities by controlling vehicle movements, providing excellent customer service, and supporting a positive experience for everyone on site, including customers, employees, drivers and visitors, while ensuring safe and efficient operations within the yard and maintaining a high standard of service, quality and site safety.

4 GCSE’s A-C including English and Mathematics or equivalent qualifications and/or relevant work experience
Certificates / Training
Banksman training (desirable).
Previous customer service training or experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
Physical Requirements
Lifting: The job will involve manual handling (lifting or moving products or equipment). You will be provided with training to undertake manual handling safely, using the equipment provided where necessary.
Physical requirements: pushing, pulling the trolley to carry the above items occasionally.
Equipment: you will be trained to use appropriate equipment depending on the load you are required to lift.

List Areas Of Daily And Long-term Responsibilities
General
- Direct and control all activities taking place in the yard, including vehicle movements.
- Assist drivers during reversing, parking and manoeuvring to ensure safe positioning.
- Manage entry and exit of delivery and customer vehicles.
- Organize yard traffic to prevent congestion and delays.
- Allocate loading bays and parking spaces appropriately.
- Support the warehouse with the coordination of loading and unloading vehicles.
- Monitor vehicle queues and manage traffic flow during busy periods.
- Ensure all vehicles are parked safely without blocking traffic routes or emergency exits.
- Act as the first point of contact for drivers and anyone entering the yard.
- Maintain a visible and proactive customer service presence in the yard at all times, ensuring first-time customers, employees, candidates and visitors are supported and directed appropriately
- Monitor customer flow at the counter and take early action during busy periods, including requesting support from the Sales team when required to ensure a smooth and efficient customer experience.
- Be polite, approachable and professional at all times.
- Monitor high-risk areas such as loading bays and reversing zones.
- Ensure all drivers follow site rules and speed limits.
- Report hazards, near misses and incidents.
- Ensure PPE is worn at all times as required.
- Monitor and report any suspicious activities in the yard.
- Assist with controlling access to the site when required.
- Maintain security awareness at all times.
- Conduct site checks when required.
- Update logs with incidents, damages or safety concerns.
- Maintain accurate records of yard and site activities.
- Ensure good housekeeping and that the yard is kept clean and organized.
- Report any company property damage.
- Ensure Health & Safety procedures are followed at all times.
- Monitor CCTV and alarm systems and investigate/report any incidents or disturbances.
- Maintain confidentiality in line with GDPR.
- Be presentable at all times.
