J.I.T. Mfg Inc. is a well established precision sheet metal and machine job shop. J.I.T. Mfg is a good place to work with lots of long term employees. We have been in business over 35 years. We are looking for a new estimator for sheet metal and machine parts
(Scope)
Preparing bids for manufacturing fabricated metal parts and assemblies. Estimates the cost of operations and processes required for new and/or revised products. Gathers details and compiles data to estimate production costs according to specifications and industry constraints. Considers raw materials, labor, equipment, tools and transportation for estimations and out plant costs. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Reports to Sales Manager.
Responsibilities include:
Reviews Customer Drawing/Electronic media specifications for estimating and planning purposes.
Consider raw materials, labor, equipment ,tooling, outside processes and other resources that may be needed to complete the work.
Setup the process information for work orders, considering all aspects of the product realization.
Files documents according to document control procedures.
Forecasts project cost and planning.
Determines pricing, analyzes part history in order to make decisions.
Liaison with customers and vendors.
Works with customers, analyzes and advises in the manufacturing process.
Works with quality control on preventative measures in the planning process and re-work planning.
This position may also require shop work from time to time.
Skills required.
* Strong working knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
* You must be able to read and interpret CAD drawings. (Mechanical Drawings)
* Must be able to work within an office environment and have working knowledge of the industry.
* Must have good hygiene and interpersonal skills
* Aerospace planning is a plus.
