Responsibilities

- Develop and implement policies related to patient care, safety protocols, and documentation practices aligned with HIPAA regulations and healthcare best practices.
- Coordinate interdisciplinary team efforts to deliver comprehensive hospice services that address physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.
- Manage utilization review processes, case management activities, and ensure accurate documentation within Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
- Monitor quality assurance metrics, patient satisfaction scores, and compliance audits to continuously improve service delivery.
- Collaborate with medical directors, physicians, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes and resource utilization.
Experience
- Proven leadership experience in healthcare management or nursing administration within hospice or palliative care settings.
- Extensive clinical background with critical care experience such as ICU (Intensive Care Unit), emergency medicine, or Level I Trauma Center environments.
- Demonstrated supervisory experience overseeing nursing teams in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals (including Level II trauma centers), or home care agencies.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, medical records management, and healthcare regulations including HIPAA compliance.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for documentation and case management purposes.
- Experience in managing budgets, utilization management programs, and implementing quality improvement initiatives related to hospice care.
- Skilled in coordinating multidisciplinary teams across acute care settings such as hospital medicine units or PICUs (Pediatric Intensive Care Units).
