We are seeking talents who are experienced and results-driven Business Development Manager to grow revenue across nutraceutical portfolio, either in functional ingredients, OEM/private-label manufacturing services or branded product lines.
Ideal for a sales professional who understands the dietary supplement, functional food/beverage, and wellness markets and can build relationships across ingredient buyers, contract manufacturers, and brand owners.
Key Responsibilities
• Identify, prospect, and close new business across either channels: raw ingredient sales, OEM/contract manufacturing services, and finished branded products.
• Build and manage a pipeline of supplement brands, functional food/beverage companies, distributors, and retailers.
• Develop and execute territory/account strategies to meet quarterly and annual sales targets.
• Represent the company at industry trade shows (e.g., SupplySide West/East, Expo West, Natural Products Expo) to generate leads and strengthen brand presence.
• Collaborate with R&D and technical teams to match capabilities and formulation science to customer needs.
• Coordinate with operations and quality teams to scope OEM projects, including MOQs, lead times, and regulatory requirements (FDA, GMP, NSF, etc.).
• Negotiate pricing, contracts, and supply agreements with new and existing customers.
• Maintain accurate CRM records, sales forecasts, and pipeline reporting.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and emerging ingredient/consumer trends (e.g., gut health, adaptogens, sports nutrition, longevity) to inform sales strategy.
• Build long-term relationships that convert one-time buyers into recurring, strategic accounts.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Life Sciences, Nutrition, or related field .
• 3–8 years of B2B sales or business development experience in nutraceuticals, dietary supplements, functional foods, or related industries.
• Proven track record of meeting/exceeding sales targets, ideally selling ingredients and/or OEM services.
• Strong understanding of supplement manufacturing, formulation basics, and regulatory landscape .
• Existing network of contacts among supplement brands, distributors, or contract manufacturers is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-management skills.
• Willingness to travel for client visits and trade shows.
• Familiarity with global ingredient sourcing and supply chain dynamics.
• Technical fluency in nutraceutical categories (vitamins, minerals, botanicals, probiotics, protein, etc.) is a bonus.
