Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise asphalt paving crews, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to project plans
- Coordinate construction schedules using Primavera P6 or similar project management software to meet deadlines
- Review blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate execution of paving operations
- Oversee safety protocols in accordance with OSHA and federal construction safety regulations, conducting regular safety meetings and inspections
- Manage project budgets, track costs, and ensure resource allocation aligns with project requirements
- Conduct quality control inspections to verify proper asphalt compaction, surface smoothness, and compliance with industry standards
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to interpret technical drawings and resolve on-site issues promptly
- Supervise crew management activities including training, performance evaluations, and maintaining a productive team environment
- Utilize construction management software such as ProCore, Bluebeam, Prolog, or Primavera for documentation, reporting, and communication
- Ensure all work complies with construction regulations related to heavy civil projects and commercial construction standards
Skills
- Extensive experience in asphalt paving within heavy civil or commercial construction environments
- Strong knowledge of construction management practices including scheduling, budgeting, and quality control
- Proficiency with construction management software such as Primavera P6, ProCore, Bluebeam, Prolog, HeavyBid or similar tools
- Skilled in interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications for asphalt projects
- Proven ability to manage teams effectively in a fast-paced construction setting with supervisory experience
- Deep understanding of OSHA standards and federal safety regulations specific to construction sites
- Ability to coordinate complex construction schedules and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Familiarity with pipeline installation processes related to asphalt paving projects is a plus
- Experience supervising crews on large-scale projects while maintaining safety standards and quality assurance
- Competence in using tools such as ohmmeters for electrical testing when required on site
