Jimco Sales & Manufacturing is hiring a Structural MIG Welder for our Fort Worth location. We're looking for someone who knows how to weld, can pass a 2G horizontal plate weld test, and—just as importantly—can be counted on to show up every day ready to work.
Our structural steel assemblies are already fitted and tack welded, so your primary responsibility will be completing quality finish welds and helping keep production moving.
What You'll Do
- MIG weld structural steel using .045 solid wire
- Complete finish welds on fitted and tack-welded assemblies
- Read a tape measure accurately to 1/16 inch
- Use grinders, drills, oxy-acetylene torches, and plasma cutting tools
- Operate forklifts and overhead cranes
- Inspect completed work for quality and accuracy
- Maintain a safe and organized work area
What You Need
- Ability to pass a hands-on 2G horizontal plate weld test
- Experience with structural steel and MIG welding
- Experience welding with .045 solid wire
- Ability to accurately read a tape measure to 1/16 inch
- Experience with common fabrication shop equipment and tools
- Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position and wear required PPE
- Dependable attendance and a strong commitment to showing up ready to work
Pay & Schedule
Starting Pay: $21/hour for candidates with less than two years of experience. Candidates with additional relevant experience may qualify for higher starting pay.
Schedule: Monday–Friday, starting at 5:00 a.m. The regular shift is scheduled through 1:30 p.m., but overtime is common.
Workdays frequently extend until approximately 3:30 p.m. and may sometimes run until 4:30 or 5:30 p.m., depending on production needs.
