Responsibilities
- Safely operate a range of commercial vehicles including box trucks, flatbeds, dump trucks, and tractor-trailers to deliver goods across designated routes.
- Load and unload freight using equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts, and manual handling techniques, ensuring proper handling and securement of cargo.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after trips to verify mechanical condition and report any issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, route documentation, and safety records to ensure compliance with company policies and legal regulations.
- Assist in warehouse activities such as inventory management, moving stock within the facility, and organizing shipments for dispatch.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and team members to coordinate deliveries and address any logistical concerns.
- Operate specialized vehicles including shuttle buses, paratransit vans, or heavy equipment when required for specific tasks or projects.
Experience
- Proven experience driving commercial vehicles such as box trucks, tractor-trailers, or shuttle buses.
- Familiarity with operating forklifts, pallet jacks, dump trucks, flatbeds, tanker trucks or heavy equipment operation is highly desirable.
- Prior warehouse experience involving load & unload procedures and inventory management is preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to follow detailed instructions clearly and professionally.
- Valid driver’s license appropriate for the vehicle type (e.g., CDL license if applicable), with a clean driving record.
