We have a great opportunity to join our Quotations Team at our Watertown, SD branch. The Quotations Specialist plays a key role in supporting the development of accurate, timely, and competitive quotes for switchgear products, partnering with sales, project managers, and vendors throughout the project lifecycle. This role maintains organized records, tracks quote status, and ensures all documentation and specifications are complete and accurate to support successful project delivery.

Responsibilities Include:
- Develop detailed quotations and optimized solutions by analyzing project specifications, blueprints, scope and customer requirements.
- Review RFQs, bid requests, drawings, and specifications; gather necessary documents; log bid details; organize and distribute bid lists; and ensure quotes meet customer requirements and margin goals.
- Engage vendors/manufacturers to obtain accurate pricing, availability, and lead times; send RFQs and track responses.
- Coordinate with customers, vendors, sales, and the project team to provide updates, clarify expectations, and ensure smooth transitions from quoting to order processing, submittals, and project execution.
- Provide revisions and updated quotations for changes in scope, pricing, and customer needs.
- Confirm awarded scope, assist with project kickoff, and assist with setting up awarded projects in job management system.
- Follow up on outstanding quotes, support sales efforts, address customer inquiries, and assist in resolving project or quoting issues.
- Maintain organized records of quotations, pricing history, project correspondence, and vendor communications.
- Attend vendor training and stay current on new products, technologies, and industry trends.
- Support internal coordination by streamlining quote requests, facilitating communication, and assisting with problem solving as needed.
Qualifications:
Education
- Highschool diploma or GED
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred
Experience and/or Training
- 3–5 years of experience in quotations, estimating, inside sales, or a related role within electrical, lighting, plumbing, construction supply, or distribution industries
- Experience reading and interpreting project specifications, blueprints, drawings, and RFQs, with demonstrated ability to develop accurate, detailed quotations
- Hands-on experience coordinating with vendors/manufacturers to obtain pricing, lead times, and product availability, and following up on quotes
- Proficiency using job management, quoting, and office software systems (e.g., ERP, CRM, Excel, project management platforms)
- Demonstrated experience managing multiple bids, deadlines, and changing priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and professionalism
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to collaborate with internal teams, clarify customer needs, and provide professional written and verbal updates
- Customer service experience supporting the full inquiry-to-quote or quote-to-close cycle, including handling questions, addressing concerns, and resolving issues
- Proven problem-solving and decision-making ability, with experience managing scope changes, revisions, and pricing adjustments
- Ability to work independently with strong self-management skills, including time management, organization, and follow-through
- Experience maintaining organized documentation, including quote history, pricing records, bid lists, and project correspondence
- 5 years in electrical distribution or related experience preferred
