Reports to

Glass Department Manager

Summary

Responsible for maintaining the operation of machines in the glass manufacturing department, to insure maximum quality production.

Duties and responsibilities

• Set up, adjust, maintain and operate all glass department machinery per job needs (All Vial Lines, Inserts, Glaziers, Bottomers, Roller Bed Machine, Cutter and Inter-lock).
• Provides proper and timely maintenance of machinery and equipment.
• Mechanic has primary responsibility for production and quality on assigned equipment.
• Analyzes and trouble shoots mechanical or operational problems on machines
• Makes necessary corrections and adjustments to maintain maximum production and quality.
• Run and provide relieving of bottomer machines and printer as needed
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Competencies

• 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Must possess mechanical and electrical skills as well as the ability to trouble shoot machinery
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Must adhere to and promote Safety rules
• Interpersonal Skills – the individual maintains confidentiality, remains open to others’ ideas and exhibits willingness to try new things.
• Dependability –the individual is consistently at work and one time, responds to management direction and solicits feedback to improve performance.
• Adaptability- the individual adapts to changes in work environment with ability to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events.
• Ability to interface effectively with all levels of staff.
• Must be able to read, write and speck English

Working conditions

May be requested to work overtime or weekends for deadlines.

Pay: From $21.60 per hour
