Respite Care Provider (Part-Time Employee)
JFS RESPITE & SUPPORT SERVICES – Milwaukee, WI
Pay: $18–$25 per hour (based on experience and shift type)

JFS RESPITE & SUPPORT SERVICES provides in-home respite care for children with disabilities, developmental delays, and behavioral needs. We support families who need reliable relief and are building a team of dependable, compassionate staff committed to professionalism, safety, and consistent care.
Position Overview
Respite Care Providers supervise and engage children in their homes, follow care plans, support behavioral and sensory needs, and maintain a safe, structured environment. This is a part-time W-2 employee role with flexible scheduling.
Pay Structure
- Starting pay: $18/hr
- Experienced caregivers: $20–$22/hr
- Premium shifts (evenings, weekends, higher-needs care): up to $25/hr
- Paid training included
Responsibilities
- Supervise and engage children in age-appropriate activities
- Follow care plans and routines provided by families
- Support behavioral, sensory, or emotional needs
- Maintain safety and professionalism in the home
- Document each shift in the agency’s system
- Communicate concerns to the Program Manager
Requirements
- At least 18 years old
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Reliable transportation
- Able to pass a Wisconsin background check
- At least 1 year of childcare experience (personal or professional)
- CPR/First Aid certified or willing to obtain within 30 days
- Able to lift up to 25 lbs for safety support
- Availability for occasional evenings or weekends
Preferred (not required)
- Experience with special needs or behavioral support
- Experience in childcare, human services, or respite care
