GENERAL SCOPE: The Community Coordinator is responsible for creating, organizing, and delivering a vibrant, meaningful engagement program that enhances the daily experience and overall, well‑being of residents at Lilac Grove. This role focuses on social, recreational, educational, and wellness‑based activities that promote community connection, independence, and joy. While the core focus is resident activities and hospitality, this role will also support basic sales functions during the period that the community is working toward full occupancy. These responsibilities primarily involve hosting warm, hospitality‑focused tours and assisting prospective residents with understanding our lifestyle and engagement offerings. The ideal candidate is energetic, creative, highly organized, and passionate about serving older adults in a warm, hospitality‑centered environment.

Education / Qualification
- Human service or related associate’s degree
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable engaging with older adults and families.
- Creative thinker with the ability to plan meaningful and varied programs.
- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a busy, people-focused environment.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with calendars, newsletters, or simple design tools a plus.
- Ability to lead group activities, including light exercise, crafts, games, and social programs.
- Ability to work some evenings, weekends, or holidays for events or special programs.
- Warm, resident-centered hospitality.
Resident Activities & Engagement (Primary Function)
- Plan, coordinate, and facilitate a diverse calendar of activities, programs, and events that support physical, social, emotional, and cognitive well‑being.
- Create and publish a monthly activity calendar, newsletters, and resident communications.
- Encourage resident participation through personal invitations, reminders, relationship‑building, and understanding individual interests.
- Host daily programs such as exercise classes, crafts, discussion groups, games, and special events.
- Coordinate holiday celebrations, themed events, and intergenerational activities.
- Support resident committees and clubs, fostering resident-led engagement whenever feasible.
- Gather resident feedback and adjust programming to ensure activities are meaningful, inclusive, and well-attended.
- Ensure all activity areas are safe, organized, and welcoming, including set-up, clean-up, and materials management.
- Build relationships with community partners, entertainers, cultural groups, and volunteers to expand program offerings.
- Schedule and host special events, performances, educational sessions, and community collaborations.
- Promote a warm, engaging atmosphere throughout the community.
- Support new resident welcome activities to encourage early social connection.
- Maintain positive relationships with residents and families, demonstrating empathy, patience, and enthusiasm.
- Assist with capturing photos and highlights of activities for newsletters, social media, and marketing materials.
- Participate in community events such as open houses, holiday celebrations, or family gatherings as needed.
- Assist with scheduling rooms, posting calendars, preparing materials, and tracking attendance.
- Maintain activity supplies and assist in managing related budget needs.
- Provide occasional front desk coverage as needed.

- Conduct friendly, hospitality-driven tours focusing on lifestyle, engagement, amenities, and community culture.
- Respond to basic inquiries from walk‑ins or phone calls with warmth and professionalism.
- Assist the Executive Director with simple follow-ups such as sending brochures, activity calendars, or tour confirmations.
- Provide prospective residents and families with insight into community life by highlighting activities, resident stories, and unique programs.
- Support the move‑in welcome process by preparing activity calendars, welcome materials, and introducing new residents to programs.
- Maintain accurate notes in the CRM for tours you conduct or inquiries responded to.
