SUMMARY DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
The Program Manager supports the successful design and execution of Federation’s civic and interfaith bridge-building initiatives within the Community Engagement Department. Reporting to the VP of Community Relations, this role helps implement programs, events, and partnerships that strengthen relationships between the Jewish community and diverse civic, faith, and community leaders across Los Angeles. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker, relationship-builder, and detail-oriented project manager with a deep passion for leadership development and community impact.
- Support planning and execution of leadership programs, community events, and bridge-building initiatives.
- Coordinate with facilitators, speakers, and partners to deliver meaningful, values-driven programs.
- Manage timelines, logistics, and budgets to ensure smooth program delivery.
- Build and maintain relationships with participants, alumni, and partner organizations.
- Support JFEDLA cohort alumni engagement through events, learning opportunities, and networking platforms.
- Collaborate across departments to align programs with organizational priorities.
- Assist in representing the Jewish community in civic and interfaith coalitions and partnerships.
- Coordinate multiple events and initiatives simultaneously.
- Help to conceptualize and implement initiatives that effectively build relationships with diverse groups of individuals or organizations for interfaith and intergroup collaboration.
- Provide general support to Community Engagement initiatives as needed.
- Be available to supervisor for additional assignments, as required, and assisting with the Campaign.
- The employee may perform other related duties to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in political science, leadership, nonprofit management, or related field a plus.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in program management, leadership development, civic engagement, or related areas. Demonstrated experience planning and executing high-quality programs or events; including program coordination, and facilitation.
- Strategic thinker with strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to build trust and rapport with diverse stakeholders and lead convenings where appropriate.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Proactive, collaborative, and adaptable team player.
- Passion for leadership development, community building, and equity.
- Exceptional communication (oral and written) and networking ability.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital content tools (e.g., Canva, Mailchimp)
- Familiarity with Zoom and online program delivery.
- Understanding of Jewish life and institutions, particularly in Los Angeles.
- Familiarity with local, state, and national civic ecosystems.
Other Requirements:
- Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends.
- Reliable transportation for off-site meetings and events.
- A hybrid work model will be implemented for certain positions. This position must report to the worksite on non-remote workdays, as determined by the Federation
