Community Outreach & Events Coordinator


Job Summary

The Community Outreach & Events Coordinator is responsible for coordinating JFS volunteer engagement initiatives, community outreach efforts, and agency events that strengthen relationships with volunteers, community partners, and Jewish Family Service. This position manages the planning and execution of volunteer events, including Fall Fix Up, Adopt-A-Family, and future engagement initiatives. The coordinator builds and maintains strong community partnerships, identifies opportunities to increase engagement.


Principal Accountabilities:

  • Event Management – Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of JFS volunteer events, including all aspects of Fall Fix Up, Adopt-A-Family, and future volunteer engagement initiatives, ensuring successful events and meaningful volunteer experiences.
  • Engagement – Involve community partners, JFS colleagues, and community volunteers to execute a successful program and event.
  • Budgeting – Prepare and manage event budget related to programs; process all necessary vendor contracts and invoices.
  • Outreach – Build and maintain strong relationships with community partners and volunteers to promote JFS special events and increase participation.
  • Community Innovation- Build and maintain relationships with community partners to understand evolving community needs, identify gaps in potential partnerships, and recommend innovative solutions.
  • Marketing & Communications – Work closely with the Development and Marketing Teams to coordinate all marketing materials related to events. Maintain clear communication with the appropriate JFS staff so information can be shared with the JFS board and volunteer leaders.
  • Employee Philanthropy – Work with other agency staff to educate them on giving opportunities and assist with development efforts.
  • Mission Dedication – Embody the mission and values of JFS in all work done on behalf of the agency. Utilization of the JFS key strategies will ensure success of this accountability.
  • Misc. – Other duties as assigned by management.
  • This position will be supervised by the Director of Development


Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required in a related field.

  • Technology – Competency in Office suite, Adobe, and Raiser’s Edge NXT.
  • Comprehension – Ability to read and interpret instructions, correspondence, and memos.
  • Writing – Ability to write thank you notes and other writing projects as needed.
  • Problem Solving and Reasoning – Ability to think comprehensively about issues and use problem solving skills to make improvements.
  • Communication – Ability to speak clearly and respectfully to donors and staff on the phone and in person.
  • Analysis – Understanding of basis statistics to analyze data responsibly.
  • Quality and Compliance-Ability to achieve a standard of excellence with our work processes and outcome, honoring all regulatory and JFS policies.
