Role Description
The Intake Coordinator is a full-time, on-site social work position located in Elizabeth, NJ. This role is responsible for serving as the first point of contact for individuals seeking services, gathering initial information, and performing intake assessments in a professional and compassionate manner.
This role is an ideal position for recent MSW graduates with LSW licensure in good standing, looking obtain their hours towards clinical licensure. Day-to-day responsibilities include fielding phone calls from community members seeking services, explaining available agency and county programs, verifying insurance and eligibility through our multiple EHR systems, and assist the front office in credentialing. The Intake Coordinator will work with our clinical department to successfully ensure that clients are guided efficiently through the intake and onboarding process. The role involves close collaboration with clinical and administrative staff to maintain smooth operations and high-quality service delivery.
The role also involves maintaining a diverse clinical caseload, providing in-person and telehealth services.
Qualifications
- Candidates should be an MSW and current LSW licensed in the state of New Jersey in good standing.
- Candidates should possess strong communication skills, with a client-centered, empathetic approach to diverse populations.
- Candidates should possess strong case management skills, such as organizing information, coordinating services for multiple individuals, and tracking follow-up actions for a large agency.
- Additional beneficial qualifications include proficiency with electronic record systems, strong organizational and time-management skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Bilingual candidates strongly preferred (Spanish, Russian, Hebrew, or other languages spoken in the communities JFSCNJ serves).
