Position Summary
Immigrant Services and Connection (ISAC) is a multi-agency program which assists immigrants residing in Allegheny County navigate U.S. systems.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- assessing client needs and connecting clients with community resources;
- advocate for clients within educational, health care, legal and social service systems;
- use appropriate interpretation when working with clients;
- maintain confidential client records in compliance with policy regulations and enter data in the database in a timely manner; and
- empower clients with information, tools, and guidance to eventually access services independently.
Qualifications:
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Willingness to learn new skills and apply them quickly
- Sensitive to cultural differences of clients and staff from diverse backgrounds
- Data entry skills and willingness to learn the ISAC database
- Computer and internet search skills
- Willingness to travel/work in multiple Allegheny County community-based settings including but not limited to partner agencies, universities, and libraries
- Ability to apply for and maintain child abuse, criminal background and FBI screening to be cleared for work
- Spoken and written English is a requirement and fluency in a second language is a plus.
- The ability to get to assigned locations independently
- Maintaining a valid PA driver’s license and insurance is required.
