Position Summary:
The Accountant II is responsible for
participating and managing various accounting functions such as reconciling accounts, recording monthly journal entries, compiling and supporting reports and financial statements for management. The Accountant II reports to the Accounting Manager as a part of the Fiscal Department.
Responsibilities:
- Conducts balance sheet reconciliations and assists in the month end closing process
- Assists in the preparation of external agency billings by compiling financial data and reporting to the funding agency or foundation
- Monitors individual program budgets within the organization, and communicates progress in a timely manner to management
- Utilize accounting software to review, propose and post financial transactions effectively and accurately
- Supports the compilation and presentation of financial statements to management and the board of trustees
- Other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
A successful candidate must be the following:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related programs.
- Knowledge of, or ability to learn accounting software systems.
- Have excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Have the ability to
maintain confidential and meticulous records.
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
Education and Experience:
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting/Finance
- professional experience in accounting, finance, budgeting, or auditing preferred.
- Possess excellent organizational, communication, accounting, and internal control systems skills.
- Knowledge of the Abila/MIP accounting system preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Salary : $55,000
