The Development Associate is a key member of JFCS’s Development team, collaborating across the department to support our fundraising efforts. This is a great opportunity for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, and excited to play a hands-on role in advancing a mission-driven organization. This role contributes to a variety of initiatives that help sustain and grow our community of supporters including donor research, donor correspondence and gift solicitations (primarily under $1,000), and assist with event planning and execution. The position supports donor relations and provides essential administrative coordination to keep the team running smoothly.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
- Pay Range: $33.33 - $38.46/hr (depending on experience)
- Employment Type: full-time, non-exempt position with benefits

- Fields donor phone calls and emails, and other inquiries
- Assists with mailings, including one-time requests, materials, tribute cards and letters
- Performs Prospect Research
- Ensures information is archived, properly including duplicating copies, filing, scanning, and adding to Salesforce; Supports record-keeping and updates
- Assist in the planning and execution of fundraising events, donor meetings, and development activities
- Prepare donor profiles and background materials for meetings; Assist with the creation and distribution of fundraising materials
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), including spreadsheet maintenance, and strong proofreading and editing skills required
- Understanding of fundraising principles and donor stewardship practices is preferred
- Interest in development/fundraising work in a not-for-profit setting
- Knowledge of the Jewish community, holidays, and cultural activities is not required but is helpful when coordinating or participating in activities with the Jewish Community
- Ability to work occasional evenings or weekends to support programs, events, or community engagement activities
