POSITION SUMMARY
About the Role: The Executive Director serves as the senior leader, responsible for overall operations, advancing our mission, strengthening our culture, and ensuring excellence across all departments. This highly visible, hands-on leadership role oversees resident experience, team engagement, financial performance, and operational growth.
The Executive Director is trusted to foster a warm, inclusive community where team members feel psychologically safe, valued, and empowered to do their best work. We are seeking a mission-driven leader with strong operational expertise, emotional intelligence, and a collaborative leadership style. This individual will build trust across residents, families, staff, and organizational partners, while guiding Tamarisk’s continued growth, stability, and impact.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Provides strategic leadership and oversight of all Tamarisk operations

Ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations including RIDOH
-
Participates in the development of and manages annual operating and capital budgets

Recruits, develops, and retains qualified leadership team and staff
-
Fosters psychological safety across the organization through open communication and supportive leadership
-
Builds collaborative relationships with JCS leadership, Board members, community partners and other stakeholders

Oversees quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives (QAPI)
-
Ensures exceptional resident care and family satisfaction
-
Manages risk, safety, and emergency preparedness programs
-
Coordinates and participates in Manager on Duty rotation
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business, or related field; Master's preferred

5 years of progressive leadership experience in senior living or healthcare
-
Licensed Assisted Living Residence Administrator (ALR) required

Comprehensive knowledge of RIDOH regulations and assisted living/memory care operations

Proven leadership in creating psychologically safe work environments

Strong financial acumen and budget management skills

Excellent communication, relationship building, and conflict resolution skills

Commitment to fostering psychological safety and collaborative leadership

Must pass background check and meet all regulatory requirements

Emergency Response: Ability to remain on site and physically present during emergency situations, drills, or weather events as required.

Schedule Requirements: Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and participation in the Manager on Duty rotation as organizational needs require.
