What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dishwasher position at JEWISH COLLABORATIVE SERVICE?
Every great dining experience at Tamarisk begins long before food reaches the table — and continues long after the last resident has been served. Our Dishwasher and Kitchen Support Associate is a cornerstone of that experience. This is not a behind-the-scenes role in the shadows; it is a central, valued position on a team whose collective effort makes each meal possible, each kitchen run safely, and each resident feel cared for. If you take pride in your work, show up reliably, and understand that no contribution is too small when the mission is this important, we are looking for you.
What You'll Do
- Operate commercial dishwashing equipment to clean, sanitize, and organize all dishes, glassware, cookware, and utensils efficiently throughout each shift.
- Maintain the dish station and surrounding areas in a clean, orderly, and safe condition at all times.
- Assist the chef and kitchen staff with food preparation tasks, stocking, and other operational needs as directed.
- Support Dining Room Associates during service — including running items, clearing dishes from the dining room, and helping reset tables between seatings.
- Monitor and replenish dish and supply inventory; communicate shortages to the appropriate supervisor.
- Dispose of waste properly and maintain compliance with sanitation and food safety standards.
- Contribute to a kitchen culture of teamwork, mutual respect, and shared accountability.
- Adhere to kosher kitchen protocols and all applicable health and safety regulations.
Who You Are
- Hardworking and steady — you keep moving even when the pace picks up and take pride in doing your part well.
- A true team player who understands that a kitchen runs on trust, communication, and showing up.
- Someone who takes quality seriously, whether that means a spotless pot or a restocked station before the next rush.
- Dependable and punctual — the team counts on you to be there, and so do the residents.
- Adaptable and willing to pitch in wherever needed, without being asked twice.
- Someone who finds meaning in being part of something larger — because at Tamarisk, the work of every staff member shapes the experience of every resident.
Schedule & Compensation
Tamarisk Senior Living offers flexible scheduling as this position covers all shifts, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends. Availability across a varied schedule is required. Specific shift assignments will be discussed during the interview process. Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience. Both part-time and full-time positions are available..
