Home Delivered Meals Program Director
As the Home Delivered Meals Program Director, you’ll provide strategic and operational leadership for JASA’s Home Delivered Meals Program, ensuring homebound older adults receive safe, high-quality, reliable, and client-centered meal delivery services. In this leadership role, you’ll oversee program operations, staff supervision, vendor and subcontractor partnerships, compliance, logistics, quality improvement initiatives, and service delivery that supports the health, dignity, and independence of older adults throughout New York City.

What You'll Be Doing
As the Home Delivered Meals Program Director, you’ll oversee all aspects of the Home Delivered Meals Program to ensure efficient, compliant, client-focused, and high-quality operations.
Program Leadership & Operations
- Provide overall leadership and day-to-day management of the Home Delivered Meals Program.
- Ensure safe, efficient, reliable, and client-centered meal delivery operations.
- Oversee program workflows, operational systems, and service coordination to support program effectiveness and continuity.
Staff Supervision & Development
- Supervise program leadership and assigned staff.
- Establish clear performance expectations, accountability standards, and operational goals.
- Support staff development, coaching, and ongoing professional growth.
Client Services & Community Support
- Maintain high standards of client service through responsive, compassionate, and dignified engagement.
- Strengthen coordination with case management teams, families, referral sources, and community partners.
- Support initiatives that reduce food insecurity, decrease social isolation, and improve client well-being.
Vendor & Partner Management
- Oversee relationships with caterers, subcontractors, referral partners, and community organizations.
- Ensure service quality, responsiveness, contractual compliance, accountability, and program growth.
- Collaborate with external stakeholders to strengthen service delivery and client outcomes.
Logistics, Fleet & Food Safety Oversight
- Oversee delivery operations, including meal handling, staffing deployment, route logistics, fleet management, and driver safety.
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards and operational procedures.
- Monitor service continuity and effective use of operational technology and reporting systems.
Compliance, Reporting & Fiscal Oversight
- Ensure compliance with JASA policies and all applicable regulatory, contractual, and funder requirements.
- Oversee reporting, documentation, audits, fiscal controls, and data integrity.
- Support corrective action planning and continuous operational improvement efforts.
Quality Improvement & Strategic Planning
- Identify operational risks, service gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
- Use program data and client feedback to strengthen performance and improve service delivery.
- Support emergency preparedness initiatives and continuity of operations planning.
Collaboration & Program Growth
- Partner closely with the Senior Director of Nutrition Services to strengthen outreach, innovation, meal quality, cultural responsiveness, and referral pathways.
- Serve as a key representative with funders, community stakeholders, and service providers.
- Support long-term program development and strategic growth initiatives.
Additional Responsibilities
- Perform additional duties and assignments as requested.
What You’ll Need
- Bachelor’s degree required; relevant advanced education preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible leadership experience in program operations, human services, nutrition services, logistics, or related fields.
- Demonstrated experience managing complex, high-volume service operations with multiple stakeholders.
- Strong leadership, supervisory, operational, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with compliance oversight, reporting, fiscal accountability, and performance management.
- Knowledge of food service operations, logistics, fleet oversight, and food safety preferred.
- Experience serving older adults or vulnerable populations strongly preferred.
- Strong technology and data management skills.
- Valid New York State driver’s license required.
