Responsibilities
- Assist residents or clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support
- Monitor patients’ health by checking vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature; observe for any changes or signs of distress
- Support medication administration following proper protocols and HIPAA guidelines to ensure patient confidentiality and safety
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal planning to meet individual dietary needs and preferences
- Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning, sanitation, and organization of care areas
- Document care activities accurately in care plans and report any concerns regarding patient condition or safety to supervisors
Requirements
- Prior experience in group homes, assisted living, nursing homes, or home health care preferred; experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, dementia, or Alzheimer’s is highly valued
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques and ability to recognize changes in health status or behavior
- Certification in CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) and First Aid required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training are advantageous
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members, residents, families, and healthcare professionals
- Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends or overnight shifts as needed for patient care continuity
- Demonstrated understanding of infection control practices and maintaining confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations
