Duties
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support
- Monitor patient health by taking vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature; observe and report any changes in condition
- Support medication administration following care plans and HIPAA confidentiality standards
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal consumption when necessary
- Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning tasks and proper infection control procedures
- Use specialized equipment like Hoyer lifts or transfer belts to safely assist with mobility and transfers
- Document care activities accurately in compliance with healthcare regulations and care plans
Experience
- Prior experience working in assisted living, nursing homes, or home & community care environments is highly preferred
- Demonstrated experience providing patient observation, dementia care, Alzheimer's care, or memory care services
- Familiarity with working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorders
- Knowledge of medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and basic nursing skills such as CPR and first aid certification
- Experience with care planning, patient monitoring, and working within HIPAA guidelines is advantageous
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary to assist residents safely
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with healthcare teams, residents, and families
