Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Diesel Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty diesel equipment, including trucks, industrial machinery, and farm equipment. Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, electrical systems, and mechanical components using schematics and diagnostic software.
- Conduct repairs and maintenance on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, and industrial machinery.
- Fabricate parts or modifications as needed using welding and hand tools to ensure proper fit and function.
- Troubleshoot and repair vehicle systems including air brakes, suspension, shocks & struts, HVAC systems, and alignment issues.
- Maintain detailed service records, complete inspection reports, and document all repairs performed.
- Assist with heavy lifting tasks using appropriate equipment while adhering to safety protocols.
- Perform tire service, brake repairs, wheel alignments, and general vehicle maintenance to ensure safety standards are met.
- Use automotive electrical system repair skills to diagnose issues related to vehicle electronics and sensors.
- Support equipment maintenance schedules to maximize operational uptime across various machinery types.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality service delivery.
Experience
- Proven dealership experience or extensive background working with heavy equipment repair and having CDL is highly preferred.
- Hands-on experience with fabrication techniques including welding is advantageous.
- Demonstrated ability to work on diverse machinery such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, and truck-trailers.
- Strong knowledge of schematics for electrical wiring diagrams and hydraulic systems troubleshooting.
- Experience operating heavy equipment such as excavators or industrial machinery is a plus.
- Familiarity with automotive diagnostics tools and power tools for mechanical repairs.
- Previous service technician experience in automotive or heavy truck repair environments is desirable.
- Mechanical knowledge spanning transmissions, vehicle systems, suspension components, and HVAC systems.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining high attention to detail during repairs.
