We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Lead VPK Teacher / Assistant Director to join our early childhood education team. Duties
- Develop and implement engaging curriculum plans aligned with early childhood education standards, including literacy, math, physical education, and Montessori methods.
- Lead classroom activities to promote social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of children aged 3-5 years.
- Manage classroom environment to ensure safety, organization, and effective behavior management strategies.
- Support early intervention and special education needs by adapting lessons for children requiring additional assistance.
- Oversee daily classroom operations, including lesson planning, assessment, and progress tracking through standardized testing and other evaluation tools.
- Mentor and supervise teaching staff and assistants to ensure high-quality instruction and adherence to policies.
- Foster strong communication with parents regarding child welfare, progress reports, and developmental milestones.
- Assist in staff training, professional development initiatives, and maintaining compliance with licensing regulations.
- Support the overall administration of the preschool or daycare facility as an Assistant Director when needed.
Experience
- Proven experience working with children in early childhood settings such as daycare, preschool, or private schools.
- Strong background in curriculum development across various subjects including literacy education, math, physical education, and special education strategies like early intervention.
- Experience with classroom management techniques tailored for toddlers and preschoolers.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and behavior management strategies.
- Prior leadership or supervisory experience in an educational environment is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with children, parents, staff, and community partners.
- Certification or training in early childhood education is required; additional qualifications in special education or tutoring are a plus. Pay: From $20.00 per hour
