Senior Team Leader – New Store Opening

Jersey Mike’s Subs is preparing to open a brand-new location in Oxford, MS, and we are looking for dependable, motivated Senior Team Leaders to help build and lead our new team.

This position is ideal for someone with restaurant experience who is ready to take the next step in leadership. Senior Team Leaders work closely with the Store Manager and other members of management to lead shifts, develop team members, maintain Jersey Mike’s standards, and ensure our guests receive an exceptional experience every day.

Training & Expected Start

Selected Senior Team Leaders are expected to begin paid training in October 2026, prior to the Oxford store opening.

Because this is a new store opening, Senior Team Leaders will be required to complete approximately 4 weeks of travel-based training at established Jersey Mike’s locations before opening.

All required training is paid, and company-approved travel expenses are covered. Additional details regarding training locations, lodging, transportation, scheduling, and travel arrangements will be discussed during the interview process.

Candidates must be able and willing to travel throughout the 4-week training period.

Specific starting pay will be determined based on the candidate’s previous restaurant and leadership experience.

Senior Team Leader Responsibilities

As a Senior Team Leader, you will play an important role in the daily operation and leadership of the restaurant. Responsibilities may include:

• Lead shifts and help ensure smooth day-to-day restaurant operations

• Support the Store Manager and management team in meeting operational goals

• Set a positive example for team members through professionalism, dependability, and a strong work ethic

• Train, coach, and develop new and existing team members

• Help maintain appropriate staffing and shift coverage

• Assign positions and responsibilities to team members during shifts

• Ensure Jersey Mike’s standards for food quality, preparation, cleanliness, and customer service are consistently followed

• Monitor food safety and sanitation procedures

• Follow proper cash-handling, register, and drawer procedures

• Assist with opening and closing responsibilities

• Help manage inventory, product preparation, and waste

• Address customer concerns professionally and involve management when necessary

• Help maintain a positive, respectful, and team-oriented work environment

• Hold team members accountable to company policies and performance expectations

• Communicate operational or employee concerns to the Store Manager

• Step into a leadership role when the Store Manager or other management personnel are not present

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous restaurant or food-service experience

• Previous leadership, shift leader, or management experience preferred

• Strong communication and people skills

• A dependable and professional attitude

• Ability to lead and motivate a team

• Strong organizational and time-management skills

• Ability to remain calm and make good decisions in a fast-paced environment

• Willingness to learn all areas of restaurant operations

• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends as needed

• Ability and willingness to travel for approximately 4 weeks of paid training prior to the store opening

• A desire to grow into additional leadership and management responsibilities

Quick-service or fast-casual restaurant experience is a plus.
