TITLE: IDLA Testing Coordinator – High School

SUMMARY: To provide the necessary assistance and clerical responsibilities to the counseling department in an effort to insure all students meet the requirements to graduate and transition into post-secondary college or careers.

REPORTS TO: High School Counselors and Administration

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • A minimum of two years of college (A.A. or 32 credits) or the ability to pass the para praxis
  • Experience in word processing, database, and spreadsheets
  • Knowledge of computer usage and modern office practices
  • Effective communication techniques and procedures. Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form
  • Establish cooperative relationships in a calm and tactful manner
  • Effectively carry out oral and written directions and the ability to work under pressure and deadlines.
  • Organizational skills
  • Ability to perform duties in accordance with general educational ethical requirements of the Jerome School District and the State Department of Education

DUTIES AND RESPONISBILITIES

  • Perform general tasks such as making copies, answering phones, and delivering messages as necessary
  • Assist with enrolling new students throughout the school year. This involves handing out and explaining paperwork, inputting all information into the computer as well as contacting other schools for information
  • Registering students for dual credit classes
  • Track students and keep accurate records of students participating in Advanced Opportunities
  • Coordinator and Track all aspects of testing– ISAT, Science EOC, Civics, and SAT
  • Provide ISAT Motivation Programs
  • IDLA Site Coordinator
  • Test proctor for IDLA and state assessments
  • Help with Counseling Office duties and team (i.e. registering for classes, events in office, etc.)
  • Help Transition Coordinator as needed
  • Maintain confidentiality per FERPA (family educational rights and privacy act)
  • Maintain student files
  • Correct student information reporting errors (PowerSchool/ISEE)
  • Perform data entry as required
  • Other duties as assigned by counselors and administrators.

  • PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently stands, walks and sits. The employee may occasionally push or lift up to 50 lbs, such as boxes of books and carts.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision such as ability to read handwritten or typed material, and the ability to adjust focus. The position requires the individual to successfully meet multiple demands and interactions with the public and other staff.  The noise level in the work environment is generally moderate.  Duties are performed indoors and occasionally outdoors.

Terms of Employment:    174 days per year, 7.75hours per day (does not include unpaid lunch)

This position shall be considered in all respects "employment at will" and the terms set forth in this job description shall not create a property right and are set forth only to advise the employee of when and what types of services will be required by the District.

Evaluation:                             Performance of this position will be evaluated periodically by the Building Principal or a designee in conformance with District policy relating to evaluation of classified employees.
