Job Summary
We are seeking a knowledgeable and customer-focused Service Writer to temporarily join our automotive team. The Service Writer acts as the vital link between customers and our service technicians, ensuring clear communication of vehicle issues, repair estimates, and service recommendations. This role requires a strong understanding of automotive repair processes, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. The ideal candidate will have previous experience and a background in auto service (preffered, but not required) with a passion for delivering exceptional automotive care.
Duties
- Greet customers and document their vehicle concerns accurately
- Write detailed service estimates for repairs such as oil changes, brake repairs, transmissions, alignments, suspension work, tire services, diesel engine repairs, shocks & struts, auto body repairs, air brake systems, and more
- Coordinate with technicians to prioritize repairs and ensure timely completion of services
- Handle cash transactions and process payments efficiently
- Maintain detailed records of service orders and customer interactions
- Provide clear explanations of repair procedures and costs to customers
Experience
- Prior experience or auto service management background preferred but not required
- Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics, mechanical systems, and repair procedures including transmissions, oil changes, auto body work, suspension systems, tire services, diesel engines, shocks & struts, brake systems, and alignment services if applicable
- Experience in auto estimating and service writing is highly desirable
- Proven customer service skills
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately
- Knowledge of operation of Alldata and Quickbooks online

We are a small business who pride ourselves on our relationship with our customers as well as excellent automotive repair. All experience in field is preferred however, we are mostly looking for a temporary replacement who is willing to be trained and will be reliable for the term of employment.
Hourly pay is dependent on experience and knowledge of systems/field. The employment contract will be from May 1st 2026-September 4th 2026. You will also have full contact with Manager while she is on maternity leave.
