What are the responsibilities and job description for the CNC Programming Operator position at Jensen Lee Construction?
The CNC Router Operator will produce machined parts of primarily aluminum material by programming, setting up, and operating the CNC router. While using related pre and post cutting procedures.
Key responsibilities
- Machine setup and operation: Set up the CNC router work center, develop CNC Programs from Auto CAD/CAD drawings, load the programs for machine operation, and preform CNC Router production runs.
- Blueprint and instruction interpretation: Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work orders to understand cutting instructions, dimensions, and tolerances.
- Quality control: Inspect finished parts using measuring instruments like calipers and micrometers to ensure they conform to specifications.
- Machine maintenance: Perform routine cleaning, maintenance, and inspections on the router to keep it in good working order.
- Safety and compliance: Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, and participate in safety training.
- Troubleshooting: Identify and troubleshoot issues with the machine or process, making adjustments to speeds, feeds, or tooling as needed.
- Material handling: Lift, move, and handle materials and finished parts, which may include frequent standing and lifting up to 50 pounds.
Skills and qualifications
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Familiarity with CAD/CAM software and G-code programming is required for programmer roles.
- Practical experience with CNC programming practices in a live production setting.
- Mechanical aptitude and experience with hand tools.
- Strong math skills, including basic arithmetic, algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.
- Proficiency with precision measuring tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers).
- Producing parts using CNC machinery and an in-depth understanding of CNC machining principles, including tooling, cutting speeds, and feeds.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Using standard fabrication and warehouse equipment
(Required and preferred educational and experiential qualifications) 1-3 years’ experience in a fabrication/production and/or a CNC machine operator role.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
