What are the responsibilities and job description for the Staff Accountant position at JENOPTIK?
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE (BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO):
- Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted company policies and practices
- Responsible for the integrity of Tangible and Intangible Assets and depreciation calculations for multiple locations.
- Ensure proper recording of new acquisitions, internal transfers, and dispositions. Prepares amortization and depreciation projects for forecast and budgeting activities.
- Analyzes General Ledger for variances and exceptions and prepares journal entries for month end closing.
- Maintains Prepaid and Accrued Expenses spreadsheet, reconciliations, and related GL activity.
- Reconciles Inter-Company activities.
- Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.
- Assists Controllers in the preparation of monthly Financial Statements, Forecasts, and Budgets
- Perform such other accounting, financial, or administrative tasks as may be required from time to time.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting required
- 3 - 5 years related work experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Must have experience with SAP ERP System!!!
- Accounts Receivable Experience.
- Knowledge of International Accounting Standards (IFRS) is a plus
- Ability to work with others in complex management matrix structure
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Must possess “soft skills”: conflict resolution and negotiation, personal effectiveness, creative problem solving, strategic thinking, team building, and influencing skills
- Expertise in dealing with people effectively and politely
- Minimal Travel (primarily domestic)
- US Citizen or Qualified U.S. Worker
