We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Concrete Estimator/Project Manager to join our team. This role combines the critical functions of accurately estimating concrete project costs and managing the successful execution of construction projects. Responsibilities
- Prepare comprehensive concrete estimates by analyzing project plans, specifications, and site conditions using tools like HeavyBid, Bluebeam and Planswift.
- Collaborate with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams through effective negotiation to secure competitive pricing and favorable contract terms.
- Develop detailed project schedules, budgets, and cost forecasts to ensure timely delivery within financial parameters.
- Oversee construction site activities, ensuring adherence to safety standards, quality requirements, and project timelines.
- Manage contracts by reviewing scope of work, change orders, and ensuring compliance with project specifications.
- Monitor project progress through regular site visits, progress reports, and proactive problem-solving to mitigate delays or cost overruns.
- Implement cost control measures by tracking expenses, managing procurement processes, and adjusting estimates as needed to maximize profitability.
Requirements
- Proven experience in construction estimating with a strong focus on concrete or heavy civil projects.
- Hands-on construction site experience that provides insight into field operations and project management.
- Proficiency with Bluebeam for digital plan review and markup; experience with HeavyBid or similar estimating software is highly preferred.
- Solid understanding of construction management principles, contracts, and project scheduling.
- Excellent negotiation skills to secure competitive pricing from vendors and subcontractors.
- Strong knowledge of cost control strategies, pricing methodologies, and budget management techniques.
