Shift: Day (6:00a-2:00p) and Evening (2:00p-10:00p)

About the Role:
The Resident Assistant in an assisted living facility plays a vital role in ensuring the well-being, comfort, and safety of elderly residents. This position involves providing daily support with personal care, medication reminders, and facilitating social and recreational activities to enhance residents' quality of life. The Resident Assistant acts as a compassionate liaison between residents, their families, and healthcare professionals, ensuring clear communication and personalized care plans. They are responsible for monitoring residents' health status and promptly reporting any changes or concerns to the nursing staff. Ultimately, this role contributes significantly to creating a warm, supportive, and secure environment where residents feel valued and cared for.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certification in CPR and First Aid.
- Previous experience in caregiving or assisted living environment preferred but not required.
- Ability to pass background checks and health screenings as required by the facility.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and ServSafe certification.
- Two years' experience working with elderly or disabled populations.
- Training in dementia care or related specialized care areas.
- Additional certifications related to elder care or healthcare support.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support.
- Administer medication reminders and assist with medication management under supervision.
- Monitor residents’ physical and emotional well-being and report any changes to nursing or supervisory staff.
- Facilitate and encourage participation in social, recreational, and therapeutic activities to promote engagement and mental stimulation.
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided and communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare team members.
- Ensure the living environment is clean, safe, and comfortable for all residents.
