Qualification for RN – Nursing Supervisor
Register Nurse with a current Ohio license. Experience in a hospital or nursing home in a leadership position desired. The ability to make accurate nursing assessments and decisions and good clinical skills; good leadership and management skills; maturity and the ability to work under pressure.
Requirements
- Follow Resident's Rights policies at all times; interprets policies to staff, residents, families and physicians and ensures their implementation.
- Notify physician, when necessary, of changes in residents' conditions, weight changes, medication errors, medication not available, abnormal lab and X-ray results and any other information as necessary.
- Investigate and follow up incident reports and take corrective action when appropriate.
- Administer PRN medications, IV medications, TPN, and other treatments.
- Consistently work cooperatively with residents, nursing staff,
- Physicians, families, consultant personnel, community agencies and ancillary
- Service providers.
- Receive medication delivery from pharmacy, check all drugs received and documents proof of me.
- Accept and document physician’s orders and order medication as needed according to facility procedures.
- Dictations received.
- Assist/ Prepare nursing assistant assignments as well as coordinate staff schedule for 1st and 2nd shift nurses and nursing assistants. Record staff call-offs and re-assign staff or cover shortages with facility staff.
- Supervise and evaluate all direct resident care and initiate corrective action as necessary.
