About the Job:

The VP of Affiliate Marketing is responsible for launching and managing affiliate programs and relationships on behalf of our brands. They will have a holistic understanding of the affiliate program as a business, as well as a strong ability to mentor internal team members, empowering them to do their best work. This person will be tasked with framing client strategies based on performance metrics, implementing that strategy through affiliate partners, publishing partners, and creators, and dissecting campaigns using hard data and analysis. Amid rapid change, they can get the job done and push programs forward, managing stakeholder interests and expectations along the way.


If you’re a fit for this role, you should be able to give examples of the affiliate programs and teams you’ve managed and their impact on revenue. It is essential that these — and the affiliate marketing strategy behind them — be analytics-driven. You should also be able to discuss solutions for the unique challenges of negotiating with both internal and external stakeholders.


Position Reports to: Partner & Managing Director


Core Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership

  • Lead the strategy, implementation, and analytics for the agency’s affiliate and influencer marketing division.
  • Forecast website traffic, sales results, creator performance, engagement, reach, content output, and affiliate revenue based on campaign strategy, creator/publisher mix, and associated budgets.


Media Expertise

  • Nurture vital agency, affiliate partner, publisher, creator, and influencer relationships while interpreting performance data.
  • Grow the network of affiliates, publishers, creators, and influencer partners across the division.
  • Utilize and analyze technical data across third-party affiliate platforms, influencer platforms, commerce reporting, and campaign performance dashboards.


Client Leadership

  • Oversee a divisional roster and drive client retention for approximately 15 clients
  • Drive organic growth, maintaining a healthy and balanced portfolio
  • Identify and evaluate KPIs to provide concrete recommendations to clients across investment, partner mix, publisher opportunities, creator strategy, content performance, paid amplification, and creative opportunities.
  • Validate that affiliate and influencer efforts are achieving the necessary ROI and satisfying client objectives.
  • Monitor sales and engagement from affiliate and influencer-driven channels to resolve campaign-related questions or concerns.


Team Management & Development

  • Lead a cross-functional team across PR, digital, social, paid media, creative, and client services to build integrated programs that connect awareness, consideration, and measurable commerce impact.
  • Mentor and empower internal team members, utilizing strong communication and negotiation skills to help them execute their best work.
  • Champion AI-driven efficiencies across your division, identifying opportunities to use approved AI tools while strictly adhering to agency data-privacy protocols and ensuring every AI-generated draft undergoes thorough human fact-checking


Business Growth

  • Participate in agency new business efforts and support the drafting of strategic proposals.
  • Identify expansion opportunities within existing accounts.

  • Resourceful communicator with the ability to balance many priorities while maintaining a positive attitude


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 10 years of affiliate, influencer, digital marketing, partnerships, or commerce marketing experience at a start-up, agency, DTC brand, publisher, or similar environment
  • Background in affiliate marketing, influencer marketing, e-commerce, DTC, creator partnerships, or publishing
  • Extensive knowledge of affiliate marketing, influencer marketing, creator partnerships, commerce content, and industry best practices
  • Proficiency with 3rd party affiliate and influencer tools, such as Affluent, Impact, ShareASale, ShopMy, LTK, CreatorIQ, GRIN, Upfluence, or similar platforms
  • Skilled writer and communicator, with the ability to translate performance data, campaign insights, and strategic recommendations into clear client-facing materials
  • Proven experience leading supportive team management
