POSITION SUMMARY
The Staff Recruiter, under the direction of the HR Business Partner and Director, Human Resources will have the responsibility of managing the recruiting activities of all firmwide staff positions. In this role, the Staff Recruiter will work closely with managers to assess their hiring needs, while ensuring a seamless candidate-focused recruitment experience
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Discuss hiring needs and position requirements with managers for all positions assigned. This will include determining what advertising efforts to engage to fill staffing request and appropriate compensation levels.
- Ensure a current job description and requisition form has been submitted.
- Collaborating with the hiring administrator or manager when job descriptions need to be drafted or edited.
- Identify and utilize various recruitment sources to source and advertise positions (i.e. legal association websites, targeted job boards, specialized publications and search firms as necessary.)
- Manage working relationships with vendors and liaise with applicants and search firms
- Ensure standard agreements are initiated or on file for any and all search firms conducting business with the firm.
- Review resumes in a timely manner. Conduct thorough phone screenings and interviews to determine candidate’s qualifications and job requirements.
- Maintain scheduling and calendaring of interviews, obtain interview feedback, generate correspondence, and accurate documentation.
- Maintain clear, accurate, and complete documentation of files and online recruitment database.
- Perform reference and background checks according to firm policy.
- Extend offers to candidates upon the approval of the hiring administrator or manager in congruence with firm policies and procedures.
- Assist with status updates and recruiting reports.
- Attend recruitment events, roundtables, and seminars as requested.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent work experience.
- 3 years’ recruiting experience required.
- Experience with LinkedIn Recruiter required.
- Experience in a law firm, professional services, or staffing agency preferred.
- Ability to identify and effectively analyze resume for content to ensure they meet job requirements and are appropriate for existing openings.
- Ability to assess skills and abilities to identify viable candidates in an interview.
- Knowledge of effective interviewing techniques to extract pertinent information.
- Exercise sound judgment and decision-making abilities.
- Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and a strong customer service attitude.
- Ability to interact effectively with all levels of staff.
- Attention to detail, accuracy and strong organizations skills are critical.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to meet deadlines and work with minimal supervision.
- Experience using an application tracking system – ViRecruit preferred.
- Familiarity with HR practices and employment laws.

The anticipated pay range for this role is $75,000-$105,000 in Chicago. The actual offered rate for this position will be determined based on several factors, including qualifications and experience, geographic location, education, external market data, and consideration of internal equity.
