Lawn Care Application Division Leader

Position Overview

The Lawn Care Application Division Leader is responsible for the day-to-day operation, growth, and profitability of the Lawn Care Application Division. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll perform lawn applications while managing the business operations of the department.

You'll have the opportunity to influence how the department operates, recommend improvements, and help shape its future growth.

Responsibilities:

Lawn Care Operations

• Apply fertilizer, weed control, insect, and disease treatments safely and accurately.
• Diagnose turf health issues and recommend appropriate treatment plans.
• Maintain exceptional quality standards on every property.
• Ensure compliance with all state pesticide regulations and company safety policies.

Division Management

• Plan and optimize daily service routes.
• Schedule recurring customer applications throughout the season.
• Maintain accurate application records and customer documentation.
• Monitor inventory and order fertilizer, chemicals, seed, and other materials as needed.
• Maintain spray equipment, spreaders, and application vehicles in excellent working condition.
• Track department performance and identify opportunities for increased efficiency and profitability.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and operational planning for the division.

Customer Service

• Build strong relationships with customers through professional communication.
• Answer customer questions and provide lawn care recommendations.
• Resolve service concerns promptly and professionally.
• Identify opportunities to expand services for existing customers.

Leadership

Although you'll initially operate as a one-person division, you'll be responsible for leading the department as if it were your own. As the division grows, you'll help develop processes, train future team members, and contribute to building a scalable operation.

Qualifications

• Experience in lawn care, turf management, horticulture, or a related field.
• Commercial Pesticide Applicator License (or the ability to obtain one).
• Strong knowledge of turfgrass, weeds, insects, and common lawn diseases.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Proficiency with smartphones, tablets, and basic computer software for scheduling and recordkeeping.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous leadership or supervisory experience.
• Experience managing routes and scheduling.
• Knowledge of fertilizer calibration and application equipment.
• Experience maintaining commercial lawn care equipment.
• Ability to analyze operational performance and recommend improvements.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly.
• Ability to walk, bend, kneel, and work outdoors throughout the day.
• Comfortable working in varying weather conditions.

Pay: $52,500.00 - $60,000.00 per year
