State of Michigan elementary teaching certification required (ZG) K-5 all subjects (K-8 all subjects in self-
contained classroom) - Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
- Commitment to educational excellence
- Curricular knowledge consistent with elementary education
- Successful teaching or student teaching experience at the elementary level
- Strong instructional technology experience (preferably within an LMS)
- Participate in professional development for successful online and blended teaching & learning
- Instruct 2nd & 3rd grade courses online within Blackboard
- Instruct 2nd & 3rd hybrid (in-person) 2.5 days per week, including an elective rotation
- Customize content for students as needed
- Serve as a mentor teacher for students in 2nd & 3rd grades
- Communicate weekly with students, providing a supportive online teaching presence
- Host live instructional sessions as assigned throughout the week
- Monitor student academic progress and engagement data
- Proctor grade-level school-wide assessments
- Follow academic support plans for struggling students, working closely with the JIA Elementary Lead Teacher and JIA Principal
- Attend parent-teacher conferences
- Uphold all JIA Handbook expectations and policies
