Jefferson Memory Care is a CBRF specializing in caring for residents with Dementia. We are looking to hire a full-time Housekeeping/Laundry Attendant to join our team. The Housekeeping/Laundry Attendant staff follow established policies and procedures. They are responsible for maintaining clean, safe and sanitary conditions of the laundry rooms, chemical supply rooms, resident rooms and common areas.
Job qualifications: Housekeeping/Laundry Aide of a CBRF shall be at least 18 years of age and exhibit the capacity to respond to the needs of the residents and manage the complexity of the CBRF. The candidate shall have any one of the following qualifications and/or be eligible with appropriate hands-on facility working experience.
- Experience consisting of a minimum of one-year working in a health care related field having direct contact with one or more of the client groups identified under s. DHS 83.02 (16).
- At least 2 years’ experience working in a related skill and/or health care related field having direct contact with one or more of the client groups identified under s. DHS 83.02 (16)
- Willing and able to perform lifting and physical duties as assigned inside and outside of building
- Able to cooperate with other employees and departments
- Able to interpret and follow applicable DHS 83 regulations and other mandated requirements
- Willing to submit to a background check and it must be clear from any care giver restrictions or convictions prohibiting contact with population served.
- Able to provide proof of prior experience in housekeeping and laundry activities in a residential care facility; experience not required, but preferred
Laundry Responsibilities: Provide a supply of clean, disinfected linens for use in the individual resident rooms at all times. Keep residents’ clothing clean and washed in a manner, which will preserve color and fabric, avoid contamination, and spreading of bacteria. Keep linens and clothing washed, dried, ironed, folded and stored in designate areas on a daily basis. Housekeeping Responsibilities: Follow established policies and procedures of the department and facility. Maintain laundry rooms, chemical supply room and contents in a clean, safe and sanitary condition. Regular and scheduled cleaning of resident rooms, common areas, and other tasks as assigned.
The Housekeeping/Laundry Aide may be required to perform tasks, which involve exposure to visible blood contamination or reasonable exposure of possible blood contamination. He/she must be knowledgeable about OSHA Blood-borne Pathogen Standard and must follow the required procedure for handling, cleaning, disposing, or moving of objects/materials and the clean-up of blood, infectious materials, or body fluids containing blood.
