The Surgical Scheduler enhances the patient/customer experience by courteously and professionally scheduling inpatient/outpatient procedures and/or surgeries. The Surgical Scheduler supports delivery of the Jefferson Experience by placing emphasis on the prompt and courteous treatment of all patients.

Essential Responsibilities
- Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.
- Collect and review patient insurance information to include but not limited to: obtaining prior authorizations (inpatient and outpatient) and referral information and ensure all necessary approvals are in place prior to the scheduled surgical procedure.
- Completes pre-procedure phone calls and confirms appointment times with patients via telephone.
- Provides patient with all necessary pre-operative instructions
- Adheres to HIPAA privacy and security requirements. Ensures compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulatory standards.
- Other duties as requested or assigned.
- HS Diploma or equivalent required.
- Customer service and/or patient facing healthcare experience preferred.
- Willingness to provide and support a positive Jefferson Experience for all patients and/or visitors
- Ability to process and interpret data
- Ability to multi task while managing a time sensitive workload
